WELCOME TO OUSSC!
As one of the University's oldest competitive sports, we pride ourselves on not only our history but the ability of our athletes to compete at a high level.
Our Varsity Races against Cambridge, held annually on the Varsity Trip, are older than the winter olympics and the oldest still-running slalom race in the world. We regularly compete in the British University Championships in Slalom and Giant Slalom (our primary focus) but we have also entered athletes for Super G and Ski Cross if they have prior experience.
Training consists of regular term-time trips to an outdoor dry slope as well as weekly fitness training. We welcome anyone who is an advanced skier (linked turns on black runs) to come join us, whether they have racing experience or not.
Our freestyle team is led by a freestyle captain, and they organise trips to an indoor centre, with the option to compete on the Varsity Trip, whether you are a skier or snowboarder.
Our social calendar is also packed, with bar crawls, crew dates, formal dinners and alumni events + more!
