Summer Trip

Recently, we have been going to the Saas-Fee glacier in Switzerland, but in previous years OUSSC has also headed out to Hintertux. This usually happens over the first two or three weeks of September with the options of doing one or two weeks of slalom and giant slalom training.

In the morning, the team heads up on the glacier with professional coaches to do either slalom or giant slalom. In the afternoon we organise fitness and sports session, as well as many fun activities in the mountains surrounding Saas Fee such as hikes, swims, beach volleyball, trying to find marmots, going to the spa, and many more. As you can see from the videos everyone has a lot of fun and both seasoned racers and those new to racing improve a lot.

We welcome new racers (must be confident skiers so get in touch if you are not sure), and especially encourage anyone who wants to trial on Varsity Trip in December, as it will increase your chances of making a team! For those of you that already have experience in racing, the trip will be an excellent opportunity for you to improve your technique and gain those seconds with the help of the coaches from Ski Zenit!
